No title. Just saying

As a Christian, I have seen a lot.. and done a lot.  I spent a season of sin, that seems well documented through social media, and seasons of righteousness, that seem to be stricken from any records of man's eyes.

One thing I see currently is a "what's in it for me?" Doctrine being taught and walked in this kingdom on earth.  As much as I don't agree with politicians, I find myself relating to JFK stating, 'ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.'  I wonder when men and women will stop asking what God will do for them and start asking what they can do for God to accelerate His kingdom.
When we step into church and seeking blessings,we should be seeking the tools to be blessings.  It's not enough to be free from financial bonds, and continue life without helping others break the same chains...   or to live a pure and godly existence without helping another that is struggling with their own sin.

I have seen individuals and families kicked to the curb for their shortcomings instead of lifted up in prayer and given the same attention others had once received... instead of looking to help others, personal and political issues and interests are brought to the foreground and the good news is lost somewhere in the mix.

How hard has it become to ask 'how can I pray for you?'

It's almost gone...  sitting here and listening to groups talking about their iPhones instead of what can be done to help the family down the street.  It becomes too much to bear.  A friend is dead.. a son is lost...  but we have to get to sleep in order to punch the clock on time tomorrow.

A stranger is no longer a stranger when we take the time to get to know their heart and what is breaking it.. but we sit on Facebook and watch videos of miley, or whoever else is making headlines, and don't notice the man across from us on the bus, the pain in his eyes crying for someone to notice and help... or even just listen....

I don't want to crash any parties or rain on parades but it comes time to set ourselves aside.  I haven't been innocent of this but there comes a time of recognition.... and action.... who will step up?
